I have had dogs and cats for the last 40 years of my life. I love them from the time they come into my life until many years after they leave. When I leave them home I like to know they are with someone who really cares about them, not just someone doing a business run. I will give your pets this love and care. I would also like to mention my qualifications and experience. I have dog sat off and on since my early 20's. I will check on them during the day as often as you want. I have worked for two excellent veterinarians one in Missouri and one group in Texas. This background is helpful should a decision need to be made about your pet's health.
I also have training experience, having taught both Obedience and Agility in the Waco area. My dogs and I were one of the founding members of the now exploding Waco Agility Group. I also have been doing therapy dog work for 10 years. We have visited with sick children, sick military personel and most often aged people who are now restricted to homes. The experience that makes me proudest, as far as training goes, is having raised 5 Southeastern Guide Dog Puppies for the school which is in Florida. You have no idea how it feels to see your puppy all grown up in a harness, sitting proudly next to their new sight impaired partner.
And yes we do have a cat, he is very independent, doesn't get into "playing" and could care less if we are going for a walk or not. I guess when you get to be 17 you just do whatever you want and pretty much get away with it.
